In most cases, their schedules consists for about 40 hours work/week and also an 8 hours work days. Because planes will need a constant servicing, mechanics could work during the night and weekend shifts and on overtime hours.

Though you do need a license for you to become an aircraft mechanic, getting certified would be recommended highly. The non-licensed mechanics could only work under supervision and could never approve aviation articles for the return to service.
